“Bahías 13 was inspired by the subtle beauty of the shoreline—where waves soften stone, driftwood is shaped by time, and every element tells a story of transformation. Drawing from these natural rhythms, the residence was envisioned as a place of calm, where architecture, interior design, and landscape come together to create a home that feels both refined and effortless. Every material, texture, and detail was selected to evoke a sense of ease, belonging, and connection to the extraordinary beauty of Costa Rica’s Pacific coast.“

The story of Bahías 13 begins at the edge of the ocean. Along the shoreline, nature quietly shapes everything it touches. Waves smooth rough surfaces. Driftwood is sculpted by years of movement. Fragments of glass become treasures softened by sand and sea. These subtle transformations inspired a home that embraces the beauty of simplicity, authenticity, and time.

Rather than drawing attention to itself, the design seeks to create a sense of quiet presence. The interiors were conceived as a counterpoint to the fast pace of modern life—a place where every space encourages slowing down, gathering together, and reconnecting with what matters most. The experience is intentionally understated, allowing comfort, light, and materiality to become the true luxury.

Throughout the residence, a palette of warm neutrals reflects the colors of the surrounding landscape. Layers of natural stone, weathered wood, woven fibers, and translucent elements introduce depth and richness while maintaining a feeling of calm. Inspired by materials found along the coast, each surface celebrates texture, craftsmanship, and the imperfect beauty found in nature.

The social spaces were designed around the idea of connection. Living areas, terraces, and gathering spaces flow effortlessly into one another, creating an environment where family and friends can move freely between indoors and outdoors. Expansive openings frame views of the Pacific Ocean, while natural light and coastal breezes become part of the daily experience of the home.

UNFOLDING COMPLETE TRANQUILITY

Private spaces offer a more intimate interpretation of the concept. Bedrooms become personal sanctuaries defined by softness, warmth, and simplicity. Organic forms, tactile materials, and carefully curated furnishings create an atmosphere that feels restorative and deeply personal—a place where mornings begin slowly and evenings unfold in complete tranquility.
